Wow… my first business blog post. How exciting!

I am so very happy to be almost fully up and running with my new website. Carissa from Designing Fresh has been wonderfully patient with me while she worked her magic at making my vision a reality with this site. She has worked and re-worked so many facets of this website, and always with a smile on her face (well, at least with that little smiley emoticon in her emails!). We have been chipping away at it for so long, it hardly seems real that it is now time to step back, let it do it’s thing and move onto the core of my business… the work itself! I’ve always had a difficult time deciding that something is “finished.” Even turning in high school and college reports and papers were always stressful because I was admitting that it was done and done to the best of my ability. I always wondered if there was something else to add… something to fix… something to change… My final exam for the Hypnobabies certification was the same way. Could I write something better? Did I catch every mistake? Should I change that one sentence to make it sound that much better? Now, I’m feeling a bit of the same apprehension as I sit back and nod my head, take my fingers off of the keyboard and essentially hit “publish” for the world to see. And judge.

World… is that being a bit presumptious? I am certain that this little website and blog will likely be my own pet… my own joy… my own little corner of the cyberspace. I cannot imagine more than a handful of people anxiously awaiting new information to be posted (and by a handful, I mean my mother and mother-in-law). However, I suppose that one never knows what will happen when they put honest love and dedication into something. And right now, that is all that I have. I may not have people banging down my door for my services. I may not have my calendar full of on-call dates. I may not even have my first hypnosis class scheduled! But I truly believe in and enjoy what I do, so when I do it, it has that much more meaning behind it.

My goal for this blog is for you to join me on my journey of obtaining my doula certifications, relive the awe-inspiring births that I am so lucky to be a part of as well as follow me as I navigate the birth world of my own little community while attempting to help it grow. I want to capture the ups and downs of this health-care related field as well as use this as a platform for education and a learning tool for my own actions and reflections.

I want to document my experiences.

HOWEVER…

I am also looking for guest bloggers out there to take part in my own little corner of the birthing world by providing their own blog posts! Draft up a guest post and benefit from even more exposure from more outlets. I am open to most anything related to pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and childhood… and especially childbirth hypnosis! Contact me if you have something you want to contribute…
